WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — The International Wisconsin Ginseng Festival is getting attention – and donations – from many area and state organizations.
Bilingual signs in both English and Mandarin Chinese will be made for the ginseng festival thanks to a $25,000 donation from The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin. The festival is expected to draw tourists from around the world because of the massive ginseng production from Marathon County’s farms. The signs will be re-used in the future.
Jean Tehan, the executive director of the Community Foundation, spoke with Newsline 9. “The Ginseng Festival is something that virtually nobody else in the world can do, and it is something that people from all over the world will come to, so investing in the signage was really important to us.”
One of the signs will be sent to Baltimore to promote the festival on the east coast.
